ANTWERP, HALL OF FAME HIGHWAY
Antwerp, Belgium - 1999 - 2004

"ANTWERP, HALL OF FAME" is today a fact. But what is it exactly? A highway bridge, long 4.600 meters supported by 82 basements will be renovated. So far nothing special. But I know, you expect more and yes there is a lot more.

This renovation is planned on a time table over 5 years ending 2004. And there is a lot more.

All basements will be decorated with art. A total of 164 pieces of art, creating an open art gallery. Not just under a bridge of the highway, but this lot is a great parking place, thousands of cars passing by daily, different shops and factories on both sides. The highway is running from Antwerp to Brussels.

But what has this to do with Graffiti? 50 % will be graffiti, 25 % will be poetry (execution by graffiti-writers) and 25 % different more local artists. The whole project is made possible by a close collaboration of public services and private persons and companies.

The coordination is in the hands of:
